SPECTACULAR: A History of Las Vegas Neon provides a new look at the origins of 21st Century neon in Las Vegas and the role of the Neon Museum in rescuing and preserving some of these spectacular signs ("spectacular" is a term used in the neon industry for the largest, most elaborate signs.)

The project began as a survey of the Neon Museum's Boneyard exhibit by Melissa Johnson and Carrie Schomig of TEC, Inc.  After completing the survey Johnson and Schomig authored an illustrated report about the history of neon, and Las Vegas neon in particular.  Las Vegas historian and Neon Museum board member Dorothy Wright edited the report and added sections on neon sign designers and La Concha architect Paul Revere Williams.

An expanded format and the addition of many more contemporary and historic photographs in an expanded format make this book both an entertaining and educational reading experience.
